The Maseno C.U in Brief

Maseno University Christian union is a non-denominational organization consisting of young men and women who are committed to living for God and pursuing a holy life.The Maseno Christian Union was started in 1978 when Maseno was still an affiliate college of Moi University, then called Maseno University College.The Christian Union has from then undergone growth in number which is accounted by large number of converts every year.The Union has full mandate to administer discipleship care to the new converts as well maintaining stability in christian faith amongst its members. Membership to the Christian Union is open to everyone who is born again and professes Jesus Christ. Within the Christian Union there are various ministries in which members engage in, in their service to God.

Martin Mwathi

Chairperson

I am in my 3rd year pursuing bachelor of science medical biotechnology. My main roles are presiding over all exec meetings, and all AGM meetings unless prevented by illness. I link the executive committee with the advisory committee.

Andrew Mwendwa

Vice Chairperson

A 3rd year taking Education (with IT) (Mathematics and Geography) My roles are to deputise the chairperson, oversee the smooth running of the C.U fellowships, Sunday services and C.U events, Oversee the activities of MEDIA and IT ministry

Evelyn Njoki Wainaina

Secretary

I am a 3rd year taking bachelors degree in Geography and Natural Resources Management with IT. My roles includes dealing with all correspondences of the CU, issuing notices and keeping records for the CU . I am also an exec rep in the elders committee.

Naftali Njanga

Treasurer

Taking Business Administration (Accounting), 3rd year. My roles are receiving and disbursing all the monies in Christian union under the direction of the executive committee and keeping the books of records of the CU accounts and all monetary activities.

Mwenda Godfrey

Missions Coordinator

Course: Actuarial science with IT. I am third year. My major role includes organizing CU missions, ground work, spiritual mapping and overseeing the progress of Evangelistic teams. I also organizing In-reaches around the school . I do Represent the Exec in the outreach committee.

Zipporah Kyeni Mwenga

Vice Secretary

I am a second year from the school of Education arts (French $History) . I am currently the Vice Secretary. My roles are deputising the secretary, acting as an exec rep for the Second Years committee and coordinating all the activities for the specialized Committee

Bible study Coordinator

Taking Bachelors Arts and Social Sciences, a third year. Roles are, seeking and suggesting about relevant bible study materials to be used by the CU, organizing members into bible study groups together with the bible study committee and co-ordinating BEST-P

I am a third year student in the school of agriculture and food security taking a course in Bsc. Soil science and plant nutrition(with IT). My responsibility includes coordinating the activities of praise and worship, choir, instrumentalist and creative ministries

Discipleship Coordinator

I am in year 3 of my studies, a Royal, from the school of Education pursuing Bachelor of Education Arts with IT. Roles are Nurturing new believers, ensuring growth of members through discipleship teachings and mentorship programmes.

Hospitality Director

Bachelor of Education Arts, Kiswahili and Music. My duties includes being in charge of order in the church and collection of offering, preparing meals for the speakers and the whole church when necessary and well-being of the church members especially when the semester is in the corner.

Witnessing the Lord Jesus as the savior and seek to lead others to a personal faith in Him, both in and outside the university.

Our C.U Services

Sunday Services

We hold two services on Sundays: The First Service starts from 7.00 a.m to 9.00 a.m, while the second service begins at 9.30 a.m until noon. Both services are held at Millenium Hall 15 (unless communicated otherwise).

Friday Fellowship

We hold weekly fellowships on every Friday evening starting from 7.00 p.m to 9.00 p.m at Millenium Hall 15. During these fellowships we get an opportunity to praise and worship God and hear impactful messages from diverse speakers.

Wednesday Prayers/ BEST-P Classes

Wednesday is the Christian Union's prayer and fasting day, which is usually concluded with joint prayers at 6.00 p.m at the Millenium Hall 15, and afterwards BEST-P class at the same venue.
